Assigned to photograph a climbing expedition I organized to the Arrigetch Peaks of Alaska with National Geographic Adventure magazine. The expedition involved several first ascents, and eighteen days in a very remote area north of the Arctic Circle.

Nettie Pardue crosses Arrigetch creek in the remote Arrigetch Peaks of Alaska.

Clockwise from top left: Base camp on the tundra; Arrigetch creek water source; Nettie Pardue picking crow berries; the hesitant author heads up at last.
